There are 65 countries and regions in the world with silk production, of which there are nearly 40 of a certain scale, and about 10 occupy a certain position in the world's silk production. As the world's largest silk industry in China, the annual output of silkworm cocoons reached 440,000 tons. The highest year reached 700,000 tons, accounting for about 70% of the world's total output. The production of cocoon and silk in India has developed rapidly and has replaced Japan as the second largest silk producer in the world. Thailand, Vietnam, Brazil, Malaysia and other countries also attach great importance to investment in the sericulture industry and have adopted a series of measures to promote the development of their own sericulture industry.
