Yue embroidery is the general name of Guangdong embroidery art, including two major schools, “Guangzhou embroidery” centered on Guangzhou, and “Tide embroidery” represented by Chaozhou. Previously, most embroidery workers were men from Guangzhou and Chaozhou, which was rare in the world. Cantonese embroidery began in the Tang Dynasty and formed its characteristics in the middle and late Ming Dynasty. It was exported from Guangzhou Port in the Qing Dynasty and became famous abroad. The craftsmanship is superb, the composition is strong and the decoration is strong, the color is rich and bright, the embroidery is smooth and bright, the literature and science are clear, and the velvet is free and easy. "Miscellaneous Du Yang" written by Su E in the Tang Dynasty described Guang Embroidery as follows: "The Nanhai Gongqi female eyebrow lady in the first year of Yongzheng was fourteen years old. She was extremely skillful and could embroider seven volumes of "Fa Hua Jing" on one foot of silk. The size of the characters is not larger than the millet, but the dots are clearly divided, as detailed as a hair, the inscriptions, chapters and sentences of the product, without any leftovers. It is better to be a flying fairy, covered with a silk and a hook, divided into three strands, and dyed in five colors."
